sraeli security officials on Thursday announced the
recent arrest of two Palestinians working illegally at a
restaurant in the trendy Tel Aviv suburb of Ramat Gan after
learning that they planned to poison Jewish customers.
The two 21-year-old suspects, who were arrested on March
19, told interrogators that they had been recruited by
US-backed Palestinian leader Mahmoud Abbas' Fatah movement
after they started working at the Israeli restaurant.
They then asked their Fatah handlers to provide them with
a tasteless and odorless poison that would only kill its
victims four hours or more after being ingested.
Israeli intelligence learned of the plot and the two were
arrested just days before they were scheduled to receive the
poison.
