Missouri Baptist University Reports Record Fall Enrollment

St. Louis, MO  - Missouri Baptist University is pleased to report record fall enrollment of 5,062.  The total undergraduate enrollment increased eight percent across all campuses including the University’s dual enrollment program.

“Exceeding 5,000 students is a milestone for MBU, which marks an increase of 80 percent over the past ten years,” said Terry Dale Cruse, MBU Dean of Enrollment Services.

More than 3600 students are enrolled in undergraduate programs at MBU, while over 1400 students are pursuing graduate degrees.

“Burgeoning enrollment University wide is confirmation that MBU’s reputation for excellent teaching within a framework of faith is attractive to a growing number of students in the region and beyond,” said Dr. Alton Lacey, MBU President.

The University continues to experience substantial growth within its newest programs. The Doctorate of Education is in its second year and expects to yield its first graduates during spring commencement. Two online programs in Sport Management and Curriculum and Instruction now have more than 100 students enrolled.   In addition, MBU’s Excel program, a dual-credit program linking MBU and Missouri high schools, strongly contributed to the expanding enrollment.

Coupled with construction of the new MBU 47,000 square-foot Sports and Recreation Complex and the new Spartan Village student housing development--both scheduled to open Fall, 2011--the University is exploring new academic programs to attract a broader spectrum of students across campuses and online.  For more information, please contact Candice Coleman, Director of University Communications at (314) 606-1167.
