Dove Worldview:
Unless you had front row seats to the recently sold-out Hannah
Montana/Miley Cyrus concert series you couldn't enjoy the show any more than
during this exciting 3D presentation. This new technology transforms a regular
movie theater into the exciting floor of a rock concert. The energy of a live
show comes across beautifully and the 3D graphics really make it seem as if you
could reach out and touch the performers or catch the guitar pick that is thrown
to the screaming crowd.
In addition to the live concert, Miley Cyrus fans get an exclusive
look at the making of the show and candid moments backstage. I was impressed
with how much work goes into the planning and choreography of a show of this
caliber. Although it is a lot of work, Miley seems completely in her element and
shines when she performs. This is a very talented young girl. I was also
impressed that she is accompanied by her parents during the tour. They seem to
be an integral part of her life, watching over her and keeping her grounded. Her
mother even helps out as her clothing assistant during the show's many costume
changes. If you have only seen Miley as Hannah Montana on the Disney Channel,
you will be pleasantly surprised with her talented singing and song writing. All
the favorite songs are in the show like "Rockstar", "Life's What You Make It,"
and "Nobody's Perfect." In addition, The Jonas Brothers join Hannah to perform
several songs for the screaming girls in the audience. They too strutted their
singing and dancing stuff in a Disney G-rated fashion.
The second half of the concert serves as an introduction of sorts
to Miley Cyrus as a performer without the television-themed character to lean
on. I think she holds her own as a performer and is a very good role model for
young girls. Let's all pray that she can stay grounded and continue to grow
without succumbing to the negative behaviors we've all seen from other teen
performers who shall remain nameless.
This film/concert makes for a wonderfully fun outing for kids and
their parents. We award it our Dove "Family-Approved" Seal for all ages.
