Why Me Lord?

By Kenneth Lewis

Have you ever asked the question; Why me Lord?  What have I done to deserve this?

Of course you have, because we're human. Every one of us has surely questioned God at some point in our lives.

We all have experienced pain in our lives.

Are you suffering from grief and depression?

Are you experiencing either physical or emotional pain in your life?

We all have, but some times we get stuck in a state of depression and grief and need help...

How can we over come pain that continues to rob us from joy in our lives?

First of all we need to keep our faith in God and never permit satan to destroy our faith....

No matter what happens in our lives we need to focus on Gods love for us and not allow our enemy (satan) to bury us in a state of depression and grief.

Get up! Get out of the house and enjoy life!  God has given us a life of joy and happiness but we can't enjoy it if we never experience it!

God knows what's best for His children and sees things that we can not even imagine.  He see's where we've been, and where we are today.  He also see what's in store for us tomorrow.

Consider these things on your quest for joy and fulfillment:

1. Spend quality time with family. While it’s always a good idea to go to church together, pray together and have meal times together, you can find much joy in just spending some quality time with your loved ones at home.  Some people might enjoy family game nights, going to the park, going on family bike rides, while others might prefer to talk and share what’s happening in their life.  These are all great ideas but what ever you plan to do spend quality time with your family.

If you live alone... Meet new friends, go to single nights at church, spend time with love ones. It's important not to be alone all the time and to spend time with others...

2. Relax with an activity you enjoy. Do you skip out on yourself in a quest to do one more chore before bed?  Choose your own relaxing activity and make it a priority. Read a book, write a story or light a candle and take a bath. But remember to do some thing you enjoy doing.  If you enjoy computer games...play a game...

If you enjoy watching sports....watch a game but find time to relax...  You can also relax by taking just a few moments to pray....

3. Grab some fresh air. Nothing brings you into the moment like some fresh air and nature. In nature, you can escape your inner world for a few moments and realize that you’re a small part of something large and great. Allow feelings of well-being and joy to wash over you and cleanse your soul.  I do this by going to the country to my favorite retreat to recharge.  I spend time reading, writing, and talking to God. There is nothing like fresh air in the country!

But what ever you do don't grab some fresh air by working.............

4. Make an effort to be stress-free. The biggest threats to a joyful life are the stresses and anxiety that arise in day-to-day life. Don’t allow these feelings to build up or they can take away from your opportunities for joy. Deal with stressful situations as they come up so that they don’t turn into long-term stressful scenarios.

Cast them aside and do not permit the stresses and anxieties in life rob you from your every day joy...

5. Do some thing that make you happy...

If you enjoy traveling...take a trip!

If you enjoy flowers...grow a flower garden...

If you enjoy reading...READ!

If you enjoy writing...WRITE SOMETHING!

What ever it is that makes you happy...DO IT!

By following a few simple suggestions you can once again experience joy back into your life by living a life for Christ and doing things you enjoy doing...

Father: Thank you once again for being there.  Restore our joy and bring happiness back into our lives.  Shine down upon us Lord with your loving kindness and cast away the darkness far from us. Teach us Father once again on how we can enjoy life by doing things we once enjoyed doing.  May we be pleasing to you Father on our quest for joy and happiness that only comes by living a life in Christ Jesus...

In Jesus Name, Amen!
