For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; Romans 3:23 KJV
If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God. Colossians 3:1 KJV
What does these three little words really mean to you? God is Love!
God is
love, because He is the creator of love. He defined love, perfected love,
demonstrated and completed His love for mankind when He sent His one and
only Son into the world that we might live through him (John 3:16). This is
love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us first and sent his Son as
an atoning sacrifice for our sins. My dear friends, since God so loved us,
we also ought to love one another. No one has ever seen God; but if we love
one another, God lives in us and His love is made complete in us (1 John.
4:8-12).
Wouldn't
this world be such a better place if we loved and cared for one another?
Wouldn't
this world be such a better place if we were kind and caring to one another?
Would this
world be such a better place if we demonstrated Gods love which lives in us
by stretching out our hand to some one in need?
God first
loved us by sending His son Jesus to die on a cross and shed His blood so we
may have eternal life. His self-giving love for us is genuine love for all
of mankind.
The
apostle Paul said: "God was pleased to have all his fullness dwell in
[Jesus] and through him to reconcile to Himself all things, whether things
on earth or things in heaven, by making peace through his blood, shed on the
cross"
(Col. 1:19). Paul puts a similar idea in the language of love (agape) by saying "God proves His own love for us in that
while we were still sinners Christ died for us" (Rom. 5:8). If you want
proof of God's love, look to the crucified and risen Jesus. He is the living
proof of Gods love for us (John 3:16). Paul acknowledges the
Holy Spirit as the means of bringing God's love to us
directly: "God has poured out His love into our hearts by the Holy Spirit given to
us" (Rom.
5:5).
Before you
close your eyes tonight may you reflect on Gods perfect love for you and how
much He sacrificed so you may have eternal life with Him.
For that
my friend, is why God is Love….
Father:
Thank you for your loving kindness and sending your son Jesus to die in our
place… I know we do not comprehend the love you have for us all… It's well
above our understanding and reasoning. Teach me Father to love and to be a
caring witness for you around the world so others can learn about Jesus and
how much you love them also.
In Jesus
name Amen!
