The
Born
Again
American
campaign
asks
citizens
to
pledge
themselves
to
be
“their
country’s
keeper”
through
higher
levels
of
service
and
civic
engagement. At
www.bornagainamerican.org,
visitors
can
pledge
their
active
citizenship,
volunteer
for
service,
register
to
vote,
share
their
thoughts
with
their
public
officials,
listen
to
and
write
their
own
lyrics
to
the
song
and
otherwise
work
together
to
renew
the
American
promise.
The
“Born
Again
American”
song
features
regular
Americans
performing
in
front
of
fourteen
iconic
landmarks,
from
the
Statue
of
Liberty
to
the
Golden
Gate Bridge.
In a
matter
of
days,
Americans
from
the
left,
right,
and
center
have
come
forward
and
declared
themselves
Born
Again.
Over
1.5
million
have
visited
the
site;
60,000
people
have
signed
the
pledge
to
reconfirm
their
active
citizenship;
thousands
have
volunteered
for
service
in
their
communities;
thousands
more
have
used
the
widget
on
the
site
to
communicate
with
their
elected
officials;
and
thousands
more
have
watched
the
Born
Again
American
music
video
and
contributed
lyrics
and
personal
pledges
to
the
cause.
Norman

American
said,
“The
overwhelmingly
positive
response
to
this
campaign
from
Americans
of
all
different
political
and
religious
affiliations
has
been
incredible.
It’s
a
true
testament
to
the
fact
that
the
values
we
share
as
Americans
are
greater
than
the
differences
between
us
as
individuals.
We
have
one
million
people
who
feel
the
spirit
to
be
Born
Again
Americans
and
we
hope
that
millions
more
will
be
moved
to
join
this
movement
as
it
grows.”
Born
Again
American
is
committed
to
the
rebirth
and
re-expression
of
citizenship
through
informed
and
thoughtful
activism.
It
is
an
initiative
of
Declare
Yourself,
a
national
non-partisan,
non-profit
(501c.3)
organization
dedicated
to
increasing
young
voter
participation
and
civic
involvement.
